MAKÜ, Rising in the Webometrics World University Rankings

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ), in the 2024 Webometrics World University Ranking, achieved significant success by rising 104 places compared to the previous year. MAKÜ, ranking 2545th among approximately 30,000 universities worldwide, demonstrated the success of being in the top 10%.

The Webometrics ranking evaluates universities under headings such as visibility, transparency, and excellence. According to this ranking, MAKÜ is ranked 938th among 16,591 universities in Asia, 882nd among 5,987 universities in Europe, and 77th among 209 universities in Turkey. Additionally, among the CIVET countries (Colombia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Egypt, Turkey, and South Africa), it ranked 170th among 4425 universities.

The main aim of Webometrics is to promote open access to the information produced by universities. The evaluation criteria include the number of web pages of the universities, the ratio of external links to the university site, the number of files on the site, the most cited researchers, and the most cited publications.
